Zoho API - Commercial Terms

Tags:

The Zoho API program is geared towards providing partners, non-profit organizations and end customers with a straightforward way of integrating various Zoho apps into your existing applications, services or working environment.

We provide a free version with some limitations that may be suitable for your requirements. This is primarily aimed at partners
who are in the process of developing their solution with Zoho APIs and early-adopters who anticipate a lower volume of usage.

The fee-based APIs provide partners, non-profits and end customers with a commercial relationship with Zoho Corp and a more business focused approach to their API integration. Partners will have access to a customized API dashboard that includes information on their API account, usage as well as billing and payment details. The fee-based APIs also provide secure document access, real-time collaboration & remote presentation features.

Pricing Plan Details [ Applicable for Remote API only ]

1. Flat monthly fee model A: For partners/non-profits who provide their services/applications to users for free. Partners are charged a monthly fee based on the number of Document Sessions they establish with Zoho per month. The table below outlines the usage plans.

*Important Note: Partners who wish to include Zoho applications for both free as well as paid users must be on 'Model B' of the Remote API Pricing Plan.

Commercial Program FAQ

What is a User Document Session [UDS]?

-- A single document opened in Zoho service editor (e.g. Writer) equals "one user document session, i.e., 1 UDS".

How do I calculate my API Usage in term of UDS (User Document Sessions)?

-- The UDS counter is updated by 1 with every new request sent to Zoho for opening the document. So, if you open 5 different word documents (one at a time), it will be counted as 5 UDS. Similarly, a single document opened multiple times (say 5) will equal 5 UDS.

To reiterate, the API usage depends on the number of requests sent to Zoho for opening the document. Each request is unique, valid for a single browser session and independent of other requests. Also, we do not count 'Save' as part of UDS count. You can do multiple save operations in a single document session.

Sizing
: How do I know how many User Document Sessions I need?

On an average, we find that a percentage of users (maybe 10-15%) will regularly use an integrated Zoho service and of that portion, the number of User Document sessions falls into the categories we have provided in the tables above. (500 "regular users per month for Level 1, 1000 regular users a month for level 2 and 2500 regular users per month for level 3). Partners should estimate or count the number of users they have for their existing or planned services and plan accordingly. Zoho will work with each partner to ensure that the appropriate plan is selected over time and ensure that the pricing plan stays within budget.

Additional Usage: How do I upgrade our partner account or apply for extra UDS?

Once a Partner exceeds their monthly plan level - they will be notified via e-mail by the Zoho API team. After two consecutive months of plan excess Partner will be asked to upgrade their account with additional usage levels based on need and can pay for additional UDS in 1000, 2500 or 5000 unit increments or upgrade to a higher level. Upgrades can be made online via the secure payment gateway.

Additional Usage: What if we exceed our plan and don't upgrade?

The program allows a two month "grace period" for exceeding the plan level. Once the subscribed plan level is exceeded and partner fails to upgrade plans or subscribe to additional UDS sessions within this grace period, the API service may be interrupted. Zoho API team will provide notification via e-mail and may attempt phone contact to ensure that partner has ample time to upgrade.

Technical Support Terms:

-- All partners and end customers receive technical support as needed via e-mail. They can send the mail to api-support@zohocorp.com,
-- Partners opting for fee-based plan have access to telephone support. (A toll free number will be provided once a subscription is enabled)*
--
End customers have access to telephone support
-- SLA and commercial license agreement is included for all plans

* Telephone support is available 24 x 7 to report critical issues, bugs and minor issues. Based on severity of issue, the API team will respond accordingly.

Payments:

-- All payments are handled through the Zoho API Store via credit cards and our secure payment gateway. (Exceptions may be available on a case by case basis).

Plan Usage Reporting:

The API program includes online access to a "usage meter" which helps partners and end users gauge their plan usage as well as provide a reporting and auditing mechanism.

Where is the link to the "usage meter"?

Why don't you post the pricing scheme to make things more transparent, and to have a clue whether to recommend this service to my clients or not.
dominic@sayers.cc+(Guest) 1184 - days ago
The lack of visible pricing leads me to suspect this service is not widely used and hence you have not discovered a stable market value.

A shame as I am proactively looking for a service like this.

I agree. There is no pricing information online, and neither of the two support people I talked to even knew what a User Document Session was. I'm not sure if I can recommend this solution to my organization.

Thanks for your feedback. Pricing is available upon request: api@zohocorp.com
The main reason we do not publish it here is for competitive reasons. I can assure you pricing is very reasonable.

Why don't you guys put on the website. Is it like one who bargains more gets more discount? What is competitve reason? If your service is competitive then put it on the website and let your rivals come with best plans.

Share the price, why do someone send an extra email to check the price.
