Zoho API Partner Program (ZAPP)
Uploading ....
The Zoho API Partner Program is aimed at providing partners with a straightforward way of integrating Zoho services into their existing applications, websites, portals or working environment. The focus is especially on partners who have a web service of their own and require feature-rich editors for their document management needs. Instead of spending a fortune on desktop-based office software, partners can integrate Zoho Service editors for viewing/editing documents with the added assurance of their data residing in their own document servers.
What is Zoho's API program all
about?
Zoho is committed to providing open access to as
many of its online application services as possible. Through our API
program, partners and the general Zoho community of users can embed the selected
Zoho services into other applications, websites, portals and intranets. To date
we have API's for Writer, Sheet, Show, Reports, Invoice, Creator, and Meeting.
What is the
purpose of API integration?
By accessing Zoho application
services from within another application provided by a partner or company IT
environment, users get more functionality and generally more productivity then they can avail with standalone desktop-based softwares. For example, Zoho partners have implemented the Zoho Writer
API from within their online storage services. Now users of those services can
open, edit and save their MS Word documents right online and into their storage
accounts without having to open any Microsoft application. Other examples,
include document management systems, e-learning systems and financial planning
tools.
Does it cost anything to use the API's?
Zoho provides a free version of its Remote API for partners who require limited usage and who do not offer a commercial offering of the application in which Zoho API is embedded. Zoho provides free technical support during the evaluation phase as well as support to partners who use the free plan.
We provide a very reasonable fee structure based on commercial or non-commercial usage. A license agreement is required. Details on the pricing model of Zoho API is available here.
Why does Zoho have an API
program?
Zoho is expanding rapidly and growing its user
base exponentially on its own and through partnerships. The API program allows
us to accelerate that expansion. It also makes good sense to improve partners'
and users experience of online applications and to spread the word. We believe
in the power of the community to drive further adoption. There are also some
amazingly good online and offline technology providers that we are proud to be
associated with.
Once we have done the integration as
a partner, how can we promote it?
Partners who have done
the API integration and want to showcase it on the Zoho website can send the
following to partners@zohocorp.com: URL of the Website with the integration, company
logo, a 50-75 word description of your company, service and how Zoho is
integrated and the functionality it provides; any positive feedback and comments
and a screen shot or two, or a video or link to a video that showcases the Zoho
application integration. Once we receive these, we will likely do a blog post
and post your information on our partner pages.
Can we re-brand the Zoho services through the API program?
Generally, the "Powered by Zoho" logo is required inside the user interface of the integrated Zoho applications. Partners can embed the editors inside an iFrame, and have their own logos outside the editors. For strategic partnerships, we do consider re-branding as a possibility. Please send your queries to partners@zohocorp.com or api-support@zohocorp.com
